Subaru Performance Exhaust

It’s no secret that the Subaru WRX and WRX STI are great performance cars, straight from the manufacturer. These cars were built with performance in mind and are recognized all around the world for their design, speed, power, and much more. There’s hardly an all-cars-welcome racing event that doesn’t include its fair share of Subaru’s. Of course, where there is power and performance there’s always a need for even more power and performance. When Subaru owners realize the potential of their cars, they turn to custom and performance modifications.

Among the many available upgrades for Subaru owners to choose from is the exhaust modification. As we’ve mentioned time and time again, adding an exhaust to basically any vehicle can help improve performance and result in a better ride. The same goes with Subaru’s. From manufacturer, the Subaru WRX gets 268 hp at 5600 rpm’s, while the Subaru WRX STI gets 305 hp at 6000 rpm. By installing a performance exhaust system you can see an increase in hp anywhere from a minimum of 10 hp to a maximum hp of somewhere in the mid to upper 50’s (with some other modifications put in place). For someone who really loves to push their car to its limits, this is a dream.

According to Car and Driver the 2015 Subaru WRX, has “some low-rpm boom from the four-tip exhaust system.” In other words, the exhaust is pretty quiet on this vehicle model. However, for most car enthusiasts, a deeper sound is indicative of a more powerful car. If you prefer a throatier sound to your car, then you’ll be happy to know that you can achieve that by having a performance exhaust system put in. A cat-back system with a straight-through muffler design may be just what you’re looking for. Of course, at G Exhaust we’ll make sure to work with you to determine what type of exhaust system works best for your needs and desires.

Another popular car in the Subaru lineup is the BRZ. The BRZ is a great car to drive from factory, but many owners find that modifications really take this car up a notch. When it comes to the stock exhaust system, the BRZ really doesn’t have anything worthy to note. Performance and sound are fine, but can definitely be improved. For this model, a cat-back system would probably be the best fit as well. Different brands and styles of exhaust systems will also yield different results – some will be quieter, smoother, more aggressive-sounding, etc. Don’t worry, we’ll be sure to help you select something you’l be happy about.
